Azimio, UDA set to announce unity pact

In the first such development in Kenya ahead of the August 9 General Election, three Kajiado gubernatorial candidates from the two main coalitions are set to announce a pact sharing key elective positions.

Katoo ole Metito of UDA, Dr David Nkedianye of the Jubilee Party and incumbent Joseph ole Lenku of ODM were said to be holed up in a Kitengela hotel from early morning to thrash out the details of the deal.

According to insiders privy to the talks, one of the three will vie for governor while the other two will settle for the deputy governor and County Speaker seats.

The Kajiado Star will bring you the details of the pact immediately an announcement is made by the trio later today.
