Kajiado has a total of 97 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 83 male and 14 female

County Minister for Health Esther Somoire has raised a red flag over delays in Covid-19 testing allegedly due to a shortage of test kits Countrywide.

Somoire made her remarks yesterday (on Tuesday), while releasing the Kajiado Covid-19 pandemic report where she reiterated that the County is now experiencing delays in receiving results of the Coronavirus samples.

She opined that the government is rolling out new strategies of tackling the biting pandemic including home-based care to ease congestion in the isolation centers.

“Residents are informed that the responsibility of ensuring that you remain safe from this pandemic is self-discipline and ensuring that at all times you observe Health and safety guidelines that have been provided by the Ministry of Health,” said Somoire.

According to the county health boss reports, Kajiado has a total of 97 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 83 male and 14 female.

The number of new infections is soaring in Kajiado even as Governor Joseph ole Lenku calls for immediate review of the allocated funding which he has since termed it limited to fight Covid-19.

The County has been allocated Ksh52 million out of the Ksh5 billion kitty fund by the National Government.

Kajiado County has 63 beds in the County’s Isolation Wards distributed across five health facilities and 10 ICU beds as well as 10 High Dependency Unit beds.
