Residents have been urged to observe and respect the dusk to dawn curfew recently imposed by President Uhuru Kenyatta, in the ongoing fight against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, that has so far claimed a live, and about 30 people infected in the country.

Governor Joseph ole Lenku made the remarks, through his official Facebook page, after he presided over the opening of the second COVID-19 isolation unit at Kitengela Sub-county hospital — the other such facility is Ole Kasasi in Ongata Rongai Ward, Kajiado North Constituency.

“We all need to observe the guidelines of the curfew issued by the National Government beginning today at 7:00 pm,” he wrote.

Ole Lenku further assured the residents that the county government is working closely with other health stakeholders in the country in enhancing the country’s preparedness for any eventuality with regard to COVID-19.

“My administration is not leaving anything to chance and we are working very closely with other health stakeholders to ensure we are prepared for any eventuality,” he added.
