The County Government of Kajiado continues to strengthen it’s efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19, with the new establishment of a quarantine facility at Ilbisil to handle the daily increasing number of the positive cases, mainly from Matapato North, Matapato South and Namanga border town.

County Health Minister Esther Somoire, through a circular, said: “We have also started the process of operationalizing Ngong Sub-county hospital as a treatment centre for COVID-19”.

She further reported that her department has received results of 68 samples, in the last 24 hours, which taken for testing two days ago.

Out of these, 11 truck drivers turned out to be positive; seven of them being Tanzanian nationals, and four Kenyans; three from Namanga town, and another from Ilasit.

The Kenyans have been evacuated to isolation and treatment facilities for management.

It is however not all gloom, as one more recovery is reported.

“I would like to thank all partners for supporting response efforts and more so the health care workers putting their health and that of their families at risk for the sake of the safety of the residents of our County and country at large,” said Somoire.
