I will lead the youth to the land of change –Miss KCYA

Sabrina Talash describes the vision she will seek to fulfill during her reign, from youth empowerment programmes to providing sanitary towels for girls

Newly crowned Miss KCYA Sabrina Talash has pledged to live to the motto of the Kajiado County Youth Alliance — “Be the change, lead the change”—by mentoring young people with the zeal to pursue their dreams.

At 19 years of age,Talash wears her crown with elegance.“I have always had the zeal for modelling and I am delighted that even though this was my first attempt at being on the runway, I won.”

A student at Chuka University,Talash is pursuing an Accounts course. She also loves music and attending to the less fortunate.

“As Miss KCYA, I have to represent all the youth of Kajiado, I have to be courageous enough to be in a position to speak on behalf of other youth. I have to be smart enough to come up with amazing projects to help them,” she says.“I believe the judges saw that in me and that was why I won.”

“Being the current Miss KCYA, I will take a further step to bring change among my Kajiado youth by leading them in the change. I will ensure there will be youth empowerment programmes through seminars and conferences.Lastly,I would like to thank everyone who contributed to my achievement,” said Talash.

Her pledge to Kajiado youth is that she will bring down the rampant rate of school dropouts by organizing mentor-ship programmes in schools. She also plans to collaborate with organizations interested in assisting to provide sanitary towels to girls in schools deep in the interior parts of Kajiado.

“Finally, I am planning a project to restore our degraded environment by planting as many trees as possible during my reign,” she says.
